2018 Funding Research
$20,000 awarded to Dr. Tischler’s Research at Tufts
During the 2018 calendar year, For Ian Foundation concentrated on working with and supporting Dr. Arthur S. Tischler’s research at Tuft’s medical center.
As pointed out under the heading 2018 Promising Research, Dr. Tischler’s and his colleagues’ promising work was in serious danger of being halted due to lack of funds. After a number of requests by Dr. Tischler, For Ian Foundation was able to provide $20,000 of immediate and much needed charitable funding in order to allow the work on the “Ian GIST Model” to continue.
In addition to the funding made possible through the generosity of our many donors and supporters, For Ian Foundation is also grateful to Dr. Victor Velculescu of Johns Hopkins and Dr. Constantine Stratakis of NIH who serve as volunteer scientific advisors to For Ian Foundation.
We are grateful to Dr. Velculescu and Dr. Stratakis who donated their valuable time and reviewed Dr. Tischler’s proposals and thereby satisfied For Ian Foundation’s commitment to peer review every scientific proposal for funding.
Additionally, For Ian Foundation is indebted to Mr. Michael Hibler, Sr. Associate Director of Development at Johns Hopkins, and For Ian Foundation board member, for his invaluable assistance with the intricacies of transferring funds between two major research institutions.
